Our Process for Installing Hardwood Floors

Whether we're installing in a small room or throughout the house, our installation process is the same.

ESTIMATING AND ORDERING

We take careful measurements and help you select the flooring you want. We will discuss your vision and carefully go over all the project details with you.

We will order and have the wood flooring delivered to wait for it to acclimate to the temperature and humidity levels inside the house. This is important to reduce excessive gaps. This acclimation process usually takes a few days.

‍PREPARATION

Once the floor is acclimated and ready to install, the existing floor has to be prepped.

The old flooring – usually carpet – is removed and the sub-floor is cleaned up and inspected to make sure it’s in good shape and able to be used as a solid base for the new hardwood.

‍FLOORING UNDERLAYMENT AND INSTALLATION

After making sure the new sub-floor is solid and free of squeaks, we roll out a layer of asphalt paper and begin to lay out the flooring boards in a pleasing pattern, based on your preferences

REFINISHING

Once your new hardwood floors are installed, they will go through our full hardwood sanding, staining, and finishing process where you can customize your look through a variety of stain colors and sheen choices.
